This test measures several types of memory including short-term recall, visual memory, sequence memory, spatial memory, and working memory. Each category is scored separately so you can see your specific strengths and areas for improvement.
Effective memory improvement techniques include spaced repetition, active recall practice, the method of loci (memory palace), chunking information into groups, and regular sleep. Our companion Memory Improvement Workbook provides structured exercises for each technique.
The test takes approximately 15–20 minutes to complete. It includes 48 questions across 6 memory categories, with each section timed individually to measure recall speed and accuracy.
This test measures your short-term memory span — how much information you can hold and reproduce accurately after a brief moment. Most people can recall around five to nine items, a range often called the "magic number seven". A higher span helps with following instructions, mental arithmetic and reading comprehension, because you can juggle more information at once before it fades.
